Dear Friends,
51% of all Americans are considered to live in "rural America." However, this majority of the population has been ignored during the past several campaigns. Our leaders need to understand the problems these folks are facing, from inadequate healthcare and the loss of jobs to substandard education, and make it a priority to ensure "our" people are taken care of.
When you connect an emotion to an idea, it creates a powerful memory. That's exactly what we tried to do with Moneyland--a project born out of the issues facing rural Americans today-envisioned, and one we believe has been achieved.
 All the songs from this CD specifically bring to light problems facing America's farmers, mine workers, factory workers--Americans who feel like their lives and contributions to this great country have been forgotten. It also boldly points a finger at the rapidly increasing gap between "the haves and the have nots"
Most of us have parents or grandparents that experienced tough times, many in rural America, but as a group they have never faced more dire circumstances. It's often said that only three things are necessary for happiness--someone to love, something meaningful to do, and something to hope for. Many of these songs are timeless reminders that rural Americans have never been afraid to work hard to achieve the American dream but when you make health care unavailable or unaffordable--putting their loved ones lives in jeopardy, send their jobs overseas--destroying their financial security and insuring that their children will have to move away to find opportunity, what hope have we left them?
This special album, Moneyland, features some of today's most revered artists-the Del McCoury Band, Merle Haggard, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, and Bruce Hornsby, just to name a few. The pictures painted. and feelings evoked, by these artists will stay with you long after the music fades. We're asking you to let the problems facing our fellow Americans be brought to light by supporting this project.
